Academics are provided through Brunswick Day School, a
private school, owned by Lakeside Behavioral Health
System, and approved by the Tennessee Department of
Education. While in Recovery Academy, adolescents attend
school Monday – Friday. Adolescents are required to
enroll in a total of at least five (5) credits each
semester. The course curriculum includes but is not
limited to:
English Language Arts Economics
Mathematics
United States Government
Science
Wellness
United States History
Fine Arts
World Geography or World History
Same Foreign Language
Our teachers are certified in
special education, and are very experienced in working
with students who have emotional problems. Class sizes
are smaller than regular
schools offer with 12 students
to 1 teacher.
Upon admission to Recovery Academy,
an education coordinator will make contact
with the
adolescent’s home school to obtain current course work.
We work very
closely with the home school during the
treatment program with a goal of
transferring credits
from Recovery Academy to minimize the loss of credits or
class time. A complete Academic Course Catalogue is
available upon request.
